My CVS Photo Book Idea!

All week I've been thinking about what pictures I would use to make my (5!) CVS Photo Books. I sure as heck wasn't going to let this freebie pass me by! Last time they offered this deal I made photo books using our engagement pictures & wedding pictures. However, this time I didn't have any pictures that screamed Put Me In A Photo Book!

Though admittedly, the thought did cross my mind of making an album of my stockpile... here's what I came up with instead. :) Using Smilebox (and Picasa for the collage) I created my own recipe book using recipes and pictures that I've posted to my blog (ok, some of the recipe cards need a little fine tuning and I'm planning on adding a couple more, but I wanted to get this posted)!

How Cute Is This??

What do you think?
What photos did you put in your photo books??

* On another note, I was able to get a raincheck on these PhotoBooks. Between work and life I just didn't have the time to put 5 of these together this week. I asked if there was anyway I could have a raincheck so I could finish these later. I went ahead and paid (well, rolled my $7.99 EB) for the 5 books and just have to bring in those reciepts to get the others. I'm sure stores vary by manager, but it wouldn't hurt to ask for a raincheck if your still trying to come up with photobook ideas:)

Strawberry Cake Balls!

Strawberry Cake Balls!

Ingredients
1 Box of Cake Mix
1 Tub of Frosting
Chocolate for Dipping

Directions
-Bake cake according to directions on the box. Allow cake to cool.

-Crumble up the cake into a large bowl.

-Add one tub of frosting to the bowl and mix until incorporated into the cake mix. (Can you tell I used confetti icing?)

-Form balls with the cake mix (you should be able to get 45-50 balls).

-Chill the cake balls (I put mine in the freezer for about an hour).

-Prepare your chocolate for dipping. Remove cake balls from the freezer.

-Dip and place on wax paper. Allow the dipping chocolate to set.

Try not to eat them all in one day!

My inspiration for these cake balls! Enjoy!

I shared this post at the Grocery Cart Challenge.

Great Deal for Teachers at Staples!

Lee sent me an email earlier this week letting me know about the Staples Teacher Rewards Program. School teachers who enroll in this program are eligible for all kinds of rewards, benefits, and upgrades. It also turns out that teachers who show their Teacher Rewards Card at check out can purchase up to 25 of the $0.01 items! I tried to find something in writing about this particular reward, but I could not. However, I sent DH to Staples to try it and sure enough it worked! That's 200 pencils for $0.25-now that's a good deal!
